Abstract: In his letter to Lord Cathcart on the resuscitation, Cullen first
advocates the restoration of body heat in the victim which is followed
by stimulation of the intestines via fumigation of tobacco smoke
through the victim's rectum. The final step is the restoration of the
lungs and the heart.

Content Notes: Contains an extract from the "Journals of the Board of Police [August
11, 1774] as well as a paper presented by the Lord Cathcart referenced
in extract.
