Abstract: In his letter to Lord Cathcart on the resuscitation, Cullen first
advocates the restoration of body heat in the victim which is followed
by stimulation of the intestines via fumigation of tobacco smoke
through the victim’s rectum. The final step is the restoration of the
lungs and the heart.
