Abstract: This is an anonymous document claiming credit of the discovery of surgical anesthesia for the late Horace Wells. It was published in two identical editions in 1950 and 1952. The document presents an augment that Wells deserves credit for the discovery based on precedence and experimentation and includes testimonies in support of this argument.

Content Notes: This 2nd edition includes a preliminary note by J. Wales requesting “justice in behalf of the dead” as well as three additional testimonies collected on March 21, April 5, and April 19, 1852.
