What is a WLM Resident Representative?

An anesthesiology resident or fellow interested in furthering the WLM’s mission to “Advance Anesthesiology by Preserving and Sharing its Heritage and Knowledge.” Up to two representative positions are available. The position is for one year, beginning at the October ASA annual meeting, and can be extended one additional year depending on the length of the project or individual interest.

What is the Role of a Resident Representative?

To collaborate with leaders in our specialty and generate a history-themed project of their choosing. The required project can range from a vignette featuring an item from the museum, library, or archives collection to a formal research project culminating in a submitted manuscript. Multimedia projects like timelines, videos, or interviews are also valid. Mentors from the WLM are provided to facilitate the project.

We encourage, but do not require, resident representatives to apply for WLM Fellowships (https://www.woodlibrarymuseum.org/about/fellowship ) and attend WLM Board of Trustees meetings that are held three times a year either by personal attendance or by the latest technology.

Past Resident projects include:

  • Anesthesia Rising Timeline (By Jehan Momin, MD and Mark Wise, DO)
  • Propofol Pharmacology & History Learning Module (by Ashley Green, DO)
  • Online Exhibit (Rory Detar, MD and Jehan Momin, MD contributed)
  • WLM Fellowships
