Abstract: This is volume two of the 1785 edition of Marquis de Puysegur’s
Mémoires which was developed from a single letter he wrote outlining
his discovery of artificial somnambulism. In this work, he develops
his concept of the “will” which he considers a crucial element of
animal magnetism.
