Abstract: In 1825 Foissac requested that a Commission be appointed to investigate animal magnetism. In 1826 the the Medical Section of the French Royal Academy of Science appointed a Commission of 11 members to investigate animal magnetism as requested by Foissac. The investigation conducted by the Commission continued for about five years and a report was drawn by Henri Marie Husson and read before the Academy in June 1831. The Academy refused to publish the Commission Report so the task fell upon Pierre Foissac.
