Abstract: Lecture delivered by Robbins at the semi-annual meeting of Humane
Society of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It includes the the
minister’s observations chiefly on the purpose and work of the Society.

Content Notes: Appendix (pp. 25-35) includes correspondence of the Society from June
23, 1795 to June 1, 1796, the treasurer’s account for 1795-96, and
officers “chosen Dec. 1795”. Final page (pp.36) contains “Summary of
the method of treatment to be used with persons apparently dead from
drowning.”
