Abstract: This is a British edition of Dods’ book, derived from two sets of lectures he delivered in the 1850’s. The first six chapters were Dods’ lectures recorded by a member from the audience of his lectures in Boston which were then titled “The Philosophy of Mesmerism.” The remaining 12 chapters were collected from Dods’ lectures at the U. S. Hall of Representatives in February, 1850.
